Nature Club's Exciting Field Trip - 03.10.2024

On October 3, 2024, the Nature Club of AM Jain School embarked on an exciting field trip to the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary in Madurantakam, Chengalpattu, for grades 7 and 8.

Discovering Vedanthangal's Wonders

During their visit, the students had the opportunity to observe various migratory birds, including the Blue-winged Teal and Garganey. They also encountered several ancient tree species, such as Barringtonia acutangula, Acacia nilotica, and Alangium salvifolium. The watchtower offered a panoramic view of the lake and the birds, allowing the students to spot birds using binoculars. Witnessing the birds flying, swimming, and catching fish made the experience even more

The informative boards displayed throughout the sanctuary provided valuable knowledge about different bird and tree species. This hands-on learning experience not only educated the students but also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for nature and conservation.

Following their visit to the bird sanctuary, the group proceeded to Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Thirumalai Vaiyavoor. The temple, beautifully situated atop a small hill, offered a breathtaking view of the village from the mountain top.

The Nature Club's excursion to Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary and Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple was an enriching experience that combined learning, exploration, and appreciation for nature's wonders.
