Exploring South India’s Heritage: Fine Arts Club’s Enriching Visit to Dakshinachitra - 3.10.2024
On 3rd October, 2024, Fine Arts Club teachers and students from 6th to 8th classes visited Dakshinachitra in Muttukadu, Chennai. This educational journey offered an immersive experience in the traditional culture and art forms of southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. Upon arrival, participants explored traditional architecture, art installations, and live demonstrations showcasing the region's heritage.
The visit provided students with firsthand knowledge of traditional art forms, including construction processes and unique materials used by artisans. Workshops by skilled craftsmen allowed students to engage in crafts like pottery, weaving, and painting, enhancing their appreciation for these arts.
