A Sustainable Diwali- Swastirbhavatu (May Good Fortune Abound) 30/10/2024 & 4/11/2024
Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time for joy, celebration and togetherness. At AMJS, students and teachers believe in celebrating Diwali responsibly by embracing sustainable practices.
All decorations and designs on pots were made using traditional sandal, turmeric and vermillion.
Edible Diyas: "Maavilaku," made from rice flour, jaggery, and ghee.
Prioritized traditional diyas made from clay over electric lights.
Natural dye screens: crushed flowers and leaves dye were used for designing the curtains.
Rangolis were drawn using natural materials like flowers and leaves.
Eco-friendly and sustainable gifts- Handmade and locally sourced products were used to make greeting cards and model crackers out of newspapers and colours.
